Bio: Vincent Dumez – Co-director of the Centre of Excellence on Partnership with Patients and the Public

Mr. Vincent Dumez holds a finance degree and a master in science of management from Montreal’s international business school Hautes Études Commerciales (HEC). Up until 2010, Mr. Dumez was an associate in one of Montreal’s most influential consulting firm where he acted as a senior strategic consultant.
Suffering from severe chronic diseases for more than three decades, M. Dumez has been actively involved in the thinking and the promotion of the ‘patient partner’ concept at Montreal University. This involvement has come forward over the recent years through the completion of his masters dissertation on patient-doctor relationship, his contribution to the training of patients, his work on various boards of community organizations and his involvement as a speaker in national and international forums and workshops addressed to healthcare professionals.
This path led him in October 2010 to create and lead the patient partner program of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Montreal. Mr Dumez now co-manage a larger organization with Dr. Paule Lebel : Collaboration and Partnership Unit.
Mr. Dumez also worked on various projects related to patient engagement for renowned institutions such as the Ministry of Health and Social Services of Quebec (MSSS), the Institutes of Health Research in Canada (CIHR) or the National Institute for Excellence in Health and Social Services (INESSS ). He sits on several governance committees and working of these institutions.
